By Doug Engh

Easton Foundations, in cooperation with the Easton Yankton Archery Center, will be hosting the first ever “Easton Archery Center Summit” April 13-14, 2016, in Yankton South Dakota. Each of the four Operating Centers, as well as each of the six Affiliate Centers, will be attending to discuss common issues in running Archery Centers.  In the end, the goal of the Summit is to form a tighter bond between the Centers, and to discuss methods and opportunities all can share.

The Summit will lead off with a site tour of Easton Yankton Archery Center, as well as a keynote address from Greg Easton.

Topics to be discussed will include hosting events, curriculum options, catering to corporate team building events, the Olympic pathway, and Easton Foundation programs.  On the second day of the summit, a special discussion of funding and income generation will be held. Josh Zuiderveen, of South Peat Environmental and President of West Michigan Archery Center, will lead a discussion of grant writing techniques and sources unique to each state where a Center is located.  Caren Sawyer, Easton Foundations Executive Director, will discuss Foundation grant procedures. Attendees will be given the opportunity to share budgets and revenue streams.

Doug Engh, Easton Foundations Outreach Director, will be facilitating the Summit, and Bob Romero, Director of Centers will be handing logistics.  Many thanks to Jos Jaime-SantaCruz, Yankton’s Head Archery Coach, and to the National Field Archery Association Foundation, for hosting the Summit.
