Little People of America Archery Clinic Held at West Michigan Archery Center
Dear Easton Foundation,
Please accept my gratitude on behalf of all the little people archers who benefited greatly from this experience. This event would not have been possible without the generous equipment and facility support from the Easton Foundation. Hopefully there will be a great showing from these attendees at the World Dwarf Games archery competition in Guelph, Ontario, Canada in August 2017.
Please allow me the opportunity to provide a quick synopsis of this past Saturday’s archery clinic that was arranged as an activity with the Little People of America District 5 Spring Regional held this past weekend in Grand Rapids, Michigan. There were 16 registered little people from Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Wisconsin who attended the afternoon archery clinic at the West Michigan Archery Center. After an effective review of the National Training System with 1984 Olympian Glenn Meyers the archers were set for an afternoon of shooting. During the clinic the archers took aim at paper targets, 3D animals, balloons and finished off with a money shoot. Each archer had a personal coach for the whole afternoon which resulted in great shooting form. A donated collection of arrows (1214 shafts and 90 grain points) along with the Dwarf Athletic Association of America’s collection of recurve bows (obtained through a previous Easton Foundation Grant) was a great combination of equipment for all the archers. Each archer received a customized plaque with their image captured during the afternoon of shooting and an archery reference sheet complete with all the JOAD clubs in their home state. The clinic was well received and there were many compliments by those who attended.
From the WMAC Facebook posts you can see the archers had good form and lots of fun.
I also received numerous positive remarks from the coaches and archer/coaches for participating in the clinic. Overall, this was a great experience for all who attended.
